Hey guys and gals. Here is 10 Quick Tips About METAL DETECTING.

1. You get what you pay for. Yep it is true, when you buy a Pickle and recieve a Donught ...You get what you pay for.

If you are going to buy a Metal Detector, you might as well buy a GOOD one.

2. Always fill your holes! Need I say more?

3. Buy a Pinpointer. Trust me it will save loads of time searching for an item you found metal detecting.

4. Buy a digging tool. Normally I bring a small spade shovel for in the deep woods hunting and also a small hand tool.

5. If you like to record what you find just in case your ole buddies and pals don't believe the big fish stories about that one that got away....bring a camera!!!

6. Always ask for permission .

7. research your area before you go.

8. bring water and snacks.

9. buy a finds pouch . you dont want to be huffing a trash bag around with your goodies you found in the park do ya?

10. If you are unsure about it... dig it....

How To NOT Clean Old Coins

Hello  it is 3:08 am in the morning and I could not sleep so I decided to make a post about How to NOT Clean Old coins.

First things first. A lot of older Coins may be very valuable no matter how you acquire them .

Old coins are collectible and sought after by various coin collectors around the world. It can be a fun hobby to some and a horrible one to others. But none the less, they can be very valuable, so it would be wise to inspect strange looking coins you may find from time to time.

Now here is a list of what not to do to a coin once you have found one by either, Metal detecting , coin roll hunting, or just find one on the street corner.

1. do not ever use vinegar to clean a coin. (Trust me, I have done so and ruined many coins doing so.

2. Do not boil them in hot water.

3. Do not soak them in bleach.

4. Do not put any heat to them.

5. do not scratch it with ANYTHING.

Now these are the things that I have read online before and tried and they DO NOT WORK. please, take it from my personal experience.

A coin can be more valuable to a collector ,dirty with original dirt, etc on it than if you was to clean it.  always check your dates if you ever are not sure about a certain coin before you give it to the store clerk for the soda drink you Just bought.

In fact, don't do nothing except store it in a dry safe place until you have done some research of your new found strange looking coin.

I hope you find this advice helpful and remember it the next time you run across a weird looking object , coin, etc.

as always , HAPPY HUNTING.
